French defence and industrial electronics firm Thomson-CSF said on Friday it had purchased the 10% of Pilkington Optronics it did not own from British group Pilkington Plc for Euros 11 million. Pilkington Optronics was created as a 50-50 joint venture between the French and British companies in 1991. In March 1998, Thomson brought its holding to 90%. The group focuses on the design, development and production of electro-optical systems and components for applications within military and civil markets. It had turnover of about Euros 174 million last year.
