The Stekloholding company in the Russian town of Gus-Khrustalny has pulled out of an agreement with Turkish firm Sisecam to set a joint venture to produce beer bottles. The decision was announced by Alexander Zabotin, deputy head of the Vladimir region“s foreign economic department. A protocol of intent to set up the joint venture was signed by both sides in May 2000. Sisecam had planned to build a plant to produce beer bottles for the Russian-Turkish EFES brewer under a production expansion program. The two sides failed to reach an agreement on shares in the project and on assets due to be handed over to the joint venture.
