On 18 April, Glass for Europe was in Eindhoven to participate in the GlassTrend’s event “Smart Sustainable Glass Manufacturing”.
The event tackled one of the key challenges of the flat glass industry: increasing the sustainability of its products by limiting CO2 emissions. Bertrand Cazes, Secretary General of Glass for Europe, presented “the 2050 flat glass industry EU climate neutrality vision” and reported about the current projects and initiatives aiming at reducing CO2 emissions and enhancing sustainability.
Cazes said, “Thank you to Oscar Verheijen and the whole GlassTrend team for inviting me to address your audience of #glass experts and stakeholders on the Glass for Europe 2050 #climateneutraleu vision. It was gratifying to report about all the #flatglass industry projects and initiatives to reduce #co2emissions and enhance #sustainability just three years after the release of the vision. Thanks for all the questions and great discussions!
I wish you an excellent second day of conference.”
After only 3 years from the release of the flat glass industry vision for 2050, the number of initiatives taking place on the ground shows the willingness of exploring innovate and more sustainable ways of manufacturing flat glass.
