Tvitec’s glazing for L’Oreal Spain HQ wins Isolar Award

The glass solutions provided by Tvitec | Cricursa for the façade of L’Oreal Spain’s new headquarters in Madrid have received recognition in Germany from Isolar Glas, the leading organization of independent European manufacturers of insulating glass. The project presented by the Spanish glass processor has been chosen as the most outstanding of the year in the category of Representative Works with double and triple glazing.

The new offices of the cosmetics multinational, located at Alcalá 546 Street, feature over 5,000 square metres of eco-efficient glass. Tvitec primarily manufactured double glazing units with a special coating that promotes the penetration of natural light while providing excellent solar protection, blocking excessive heat inside.

The Isolar award for the Representative Project of the Year will be shared with Martifer España, the façade company responsible for the entire façade installation, as well as with the architectural firm Fenwick Iribarren, which designed the building. Both were involved in specifying the most suitable glass from both an aesthetic and energy efficiency and sustainability standpoint.

In addition to double glazing for most of the envelope, Tvitec also supplied safety glass for certain areas of the complex, including 10mm thermally toughened laminated glass with Sentryglass, which stands out.

The Isolar Awards were recently announced at the annual convention held by the organization in the German city of Potsdam. For Tvitec’s Commercial Director, Alberto Sutil, this recognition is a source of pride, and he is delighted to share it with the client, Martifer España, and with a nationally and internationally renowned architectural firm like Fenwick Iribarren. Sutil also emphasized the real estate prominence in the project, thanks to the involvement of BNP Paribas Real Estate and Therus Invest.

Tvitec’s executive will soon present the distinctive glass icons of these awards to both Martifer and Fenwick Iribarren. L’Oreal’s headquarters in Madrid has achieved the highest sustainability and well-being certifications: LEED Platinum and Well.
