J.E. Berkowitz joins Consolidated Glass Holdings

J.E. Berkowitz LP has announced that the company has joined Consolidated Glass Holdings Inc., an affiliate company of private equity group, Grey Mountain Partners.

Over the last 96 years, JEB has become a market leader in high-quality, added-value architectural glass for both exterior and interior projects. Notable recent projects include The Tower at PNC Plaza in Pittsburgh, T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Google Headquarters in New York City and Novartis Pharmaceuticals in Boston.
CGH, with seven fabrication facilities, focuses on security glazing, transit and architectural flat glass applications. The combined CGH-JEB will consist of 1,000 employees at eight manufacturing locations occupying 900,000 square feet of plant space, and offer a wide breadth of processes, products, capabilities and capacity, according to the announcement.
Arthur Berkowitz, executive vice president of JEB, is the company’s third generation owner/manager, leading for more than 40 years.
“CGH and Grey Mountain were the correct fit for me and my employees,” Berkowitz said. “As part of my succession planning, this step permitted me to keep an ownership position and retain the real estate. I will remain energized and committed to managing the operations at JEB for years to come.”
Paul Cody, president and CEO of CGH, added his thoughts on the newest addition to the CGH family.
“On behalf of all the employees at CGH, we are excited and honored to be joining forces with Arthur and the employees of JEB,” Cody said. “Arthur and his team have built a leader in the fabrication industry, with an excellent reputation for manufacturing quality products and delivering top tier customer service. The combination of JEB and CGH establishes an industry leading company that can produce a wide range of products to serve multiple market segments. Together, we remain committed to delivering unmatched quality and a superior and repeatable customer service experience.”
