SageGlass and MechoSystems launch joint-technology partnership

SageGlass, the pioneer of the world’s smartest electrochromic glass, and MechoSystems have announced the launch of a joint-technology partnership.

SageGlass’ dynamic LightZone TM technology, a product of Saint-Gobain, and MechoSystems’ automated SolarTrac® technology will now be offered as an integrated solution for solar control. Together, the two leading companies will help architects and building owners maximize daylighting, occupant well-being and outdoor views. SageGlass and MechoSystems announced this partnership at the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, the world’s largest conference dedicated to green building and sustainability.
“With the integration of SolarTrac technology, we’re extending SageGlass’ position as the leader in electrochromic glazing by enabling even more sophisticated levels of solar control,” said Alan McLenaghan, CEO of SageGlass. “MechoSystems brings more than 50 years of automation technology to SageGlass, and we’re pleased to work in close collaboration with them to advance occupant-sensitive design. Our mission continues to be to improve the human experience for everyone in the built environment, and this partnership is another example of our commitment and leadership.”
This partnership brings MechoSystems’ award-winning SolarTrac technology to SageGlass’ dynamic three-panel LightZone solution, enhancing the ability of SageGlass to optimize the influx of light and heat, including depth of solar penetration and management of shadow and reflective conditions. With SolarTrac, SageGlass tint levels adjust according to a predictive sky analysis and user-defined heat-load and solar-penetration thresholds. This proprietary approach to dynamic glazing dramatically reduces energy demand and mitigates the need for over-built HVAC systems.
“MechoSystems and SageGlass share a common mission to provide a more comfortable, healthy, energy-conserving and sustainable environment for building occupants,” said Joel Berman, chairman at MechoSystems. “By integrating our leading technologies, we’re offering our customers the most predictive dynamic GlazingManagement™ solution available today.”
Through collaborative sales, marketing and R&D initiatives, SageGlass and MechoSystems will combine areas of expertise to provide architects and customers in the contract, commercial office, higher education and healthcare sectors with new solutions for maximizing daylight with sustainable design in the built environment.
