Edgetech Europe GmbH, recently teamed up with customer Glasbiegerei Döring to work on the prestigious KÖ-Bogen project in Düsseldorf. The combined expertise and high standard of performance was crucial to achieving the high-end finish required.
Joachim Stoss, managing director with responsibility for Edgetech in Europe says: “We were pleased to support Glasbiegerei Döring, a bent glass producer of Saint-Gobain Glassolutions, in this exciting project to help them realize the vision of New York Architect Daniel Libeskind for the 26 meter high, 500 meter circumference KÖ-Bogen buildings. The project was challenging with over 2,200sqm of glass required in total with the individual elements of the façade glass measuring 1.35m x 2.70m and 2.70m x 5.60m. A project of this size and complexity could only be completed through close collaboration between all parties and years of combined expertise.
Carsten Kunert of Glasbiegerei Döring comments: “The requirement for excellent energy efficiency and the desire for curved glass façades in architecture is increasing and this project is a stunning example of how well those two things can be executed side by side, with no compromise necessary. Super Spacer® is easy to apply and offers excellent performance in the field.”
Joachim Stoss concludes: “Super Spacer® offers a strong performance in the field thanks to the bond of the adhesive and the precision of application it allows in double or triple glazed units. Super Spacer® has been used in prestigious projects like this for over 20 years and we are confident it will continue to be used for many more years to come.”
