Following the new SCHOTT strategy to focus on core business fields, Advanced Optics has regrouped its materials, products and processes into six international strategic business fields. From a sales perspective, this set-up will allow the company to better facilitate the demands of its customers. The heads of these strategic units hold worldwide responsibilities. Andreas Haedrich has been appointed Vice President Sales for the Strategic Business Fields Optical Industry and ZERODUR® which operate in Europe, the US and Asia.
“The new strategic sales set up of Advanced Optics will allow us to better coordinate with our customers and to meet their needs much faster and with a larger degree of flexibility. Especially in the US market, this is a great opportunity for us to strengthen our ties with our customers and to work together very closely, creating improvements and better results for both sides. Our high quality optical glass as well as the extremely low thermal expansion ZERODUR® glass ceramic are important products for our customers in the US and I am looking forward to further developing these expanding markets,” says Haedrich.
Andreas Haedrich joined SCHOTT in 2010 after working in the photonics industry since 1998. Before taking on this new responsibility within SCHOTT, he had already been in charge of all sales activities of Advanced Optics in Europe. He holds a Master’s degree in physics from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany.
