The new plant will fill a gap in flat glass production
During a conference on industrial policy held in Baku on November 26, Economy and Industry Minister Shahin Mustafayev said that Azerbaijan is to build a new flat glass plant and that discussions on the issue are underway.
In Azerbaijan, there are no plants producing flat glass for the construction, furniture and automotive industries although there are firms which process imported glass or produce containers, including Inter Glass, which makes packaging and exports to Georgia and Russia, and the Glass House, which makes bullet-proof glass.
