Glass World: the impact of the construction and real estate sectors on the glass industry

The Egyptian government is investing in building, construction and real estate sectors to examine how best to maximize returns, while domestic and foreign companies and investors linked to the glass and aluminum sector will invest in the Egyptian market to meet the rising demand of the market.

With the tremendous growth of the population in Egypt increasing by 2% annually appealing to the high demand for the real estate market and infrastructure projects including housing settlement, shopping malls, educational institutions… etc. make both the glass and aluminum industries very important sectors used in construction, furnishing and office buildings.
The Egyptian government is investing in building, construction and real estate sectors to examine how best to maximize returns in these markets.
Five million housing and property units will be built from 2015 to 2017 in addition to delivering 250,000 housing units by the end of this year 2015, which will give a larger scale and uplift for related industries such as glass and aluminum industry to function in these projects.
More domestic and international companies and investors linked to the glass and aluminum sector will invest in the Egyptian market to meet that rising demand of the market.
It is reported by all experts that glass and aluminum consumption is rising rapidly in the Middle East; there will be huge demand for the glass industry not only in the Middle East but also in the MENA Region over the next coming years.
Since its launch in 2007, Glass World has invited numerous multinational glass enterprises to attend the event to attract attention to the importance of the glass market in the Middle East and Africa.
As a result, in 2008, Saint-Gobain established its first float glass line in Africa and the Middle East, more precisely in Egypt in Sokhna in the Red Sea area.
PPG & Citadel Holding established Sphinx Glass, the second float glass line in Egypt in Sadat City.
Glass World has contributed to a significant increase in the number of glass factories in Egypt, Middle East and Africa, as well as the modernization of many glass factories in these regions. As a result, glass production capacity and quality have significantly increased.
The next edition of Glass World will be taking place 21-23 April 2015.
