NSG Group has used its know-how in thin float glass to develop a new composition of thin glass that can be chemically tempered for protective cover glass applications for tablets, PCs and other electronic devices.
NSG said in a release: “By utilizing our technological advantage in thin float glass manufacturing, we successfully developed a new composition, when chemically tempered, which has a higher tempered toughness than ordinary soda-lime glass with high clarity at a low cost,”.
“We plan to commence mass production by the end of this calendar year. In addition to our existing soda-lime cover glass, we will add this new glass composition to our line-up and expand our business in the cover glass market.”
