AAMA: National Fall Conference keynote speaker is DOE’s Karma Sawyer

During the upcoming AAMA National Fall Conference, keynote speaker Karma Sawyer, technology manager and physical scientist, from the US Department of Energy’s Building Technologies Office, will discuss DOE’s Windows Emerging Technologies Portfolio.

The American Architectural Manufacturers Association National Fall Conference, to be held in Baltimore, 27-30 October, will feature keynote speaker Karma Sawyer, technology manager and physical scientist, from the US Department of Energy’s Building Technologies Office.
Sawyer will present on 28 October, discussing “Windows Emerging Technologies Portfolio in DOE’s Building Technologies Office.” The BTO has developed a windows and building envelope roadmap, including quantitative metrics, to inform the research and development activities that would need to occur by 2025 to achieve a 50% reduction in building energy use by 2030.
Other speakers at the upcoming event include: Doug Anderson, project manager of the EPA’s Energy Star Windows, Door and Skylight Program, who will discuss the “Latest Developments in Energy Star Criteria for Windows, Doors and Skylights”; and Steve Selkowitz, leader of the Windows and Envelope Materials Group at LBNL, who will share “A Vision for Fenestration Performance in a Sustainable World.”
