ZEISS receives Intel’s Preferred Quality Supplier Award

ZEISS’ Semiconductor Metrology Systems business unit has received Intel’s Preferred Quality Supplier Award for its significant contributions, deemed essential to Intel’s success.

The strategic business unit Semiconductor Metrology Systems (SMS) of ZEISS has been recognized for its significant contributions providing Intel with photomask qualification, repair, metrology and tuning equipment, deemed essential to Intel’s success.
“Congratulations to ZEISS on the PQS (Preferred Quality Supplier) award,” said Janice Golda, Director of Intel’s Patterning Capital Equipment Development group. “SMS has demonstrated its commitment to leading edge repair and metrology capabilities in alignment with Intel’s photomask manufacturing roadmap. Its commitment to technological innovation, equipment performance, and quality has helped to enable the continuing pursuit of Moore’s Law and thus makes ZEISS a valued supplier for Intel. We look forward to continued success in the future.”
The PQS award is part of Intel’s Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) programme that encourages suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for PQS status, suppliers must score 80% on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, technology, environmental, social and governance goals. Suppliers must also achieve 80% or greater on a challenging improvement plan and demonstrate solid quality and business systems.
“We at ZEISS are very proud to receive the Intel PQS Award for 2012. While many of our innovative products for mask metrology and repair have been developed together with Intel, this Award also reflects our product and company quality and reliability. I would like to thank the whole team of SMS for this great achievement,” said Oliver Kienzle, managing director of the strategic business unit SMS.
