Iran: world’s third-largest float glass plant

The Middle East’s biggest float glass factory – the Ardakan Glass Factory – located in the central province of Yazd, Iran, has been inaugurated by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The factory, which has the capacity of producing 900t of different types of glass a day, is the biggest project implemented by the private sector in Yazd province.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has inaugurated the Middle East’s biggest float glass factory in the central province of Yazd.
Ardakan Glass Factory, located in Ardakan city, is the world’s third-largest float glass production complex, and is capable of producing float glass with a thickness of 19mm.
The complex also has the world’s fourth-biggest glass production furnace. The complex produces float glass, reflex mirror glass, double-glazed glass and safety glass.
The factory has the capacity of producing 900t of different types of glass a day. It is the biggest project implemented by the private sector in Yazd province. The construction period lasted 35 months and created 1,600-2,000 jobs.
