IGMA conference to feature technical presentations

The 2013 edition of the IGMA conference will feature technical and working groups focussing on the newest innovations and emerging insulating glass (IG) technologies. Registration for the event is now available online at the IGMA website.

The Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance (IGMA) 2013 Annual Conference will take place 5-8 February 2013, at the Crowne Plaza Astor in New Orleans. The conference programme will feature a number of technical presentations along with working groups that focus on the newest innovations and emerging insulating glass (IG) technologies.
“The presentations this year keep attendees on the leading edge of our industry,” says Margaret Webb, IGMA executive director. “Especially important is the presentation by Chris Barry of Pilkington North America. His presentation is an absolute must for anyone looking to understand how to design and test IG units.” Barry’s presentation is titled “How to Calculate Glass and Sealant Stress in IG Units.”
Steve Selkowitz of Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory will share a building science R&D programme encompassing ‘Windows, Daylighting, Simulation, Commercial Building Performance and Demand Response’. His presentation will cover development and testing of highly insulating, easy-to-install windows that use automated shading that can capture or repel heat depending on the season.
Werner Wagner of Sika – Germany will present ‘European Gas Loss Testing and Related Benefits’. Wagner will compare the European methods to those used in North America. Another presentation on the ‘Use of 4th-Surface Coatings in a Cold Climate’ will be presented by Tim Clancy of Guardian Industries.
Registration for the event is now available online at the IGMA website at www.igmaonline.org.
