Van Huët signs contract with Meierling-Alustar

A contract for the supply of 200 special ELT++ glass trailers was signed by Van Huët Glass Logistics and Meierling for the supply of 200 special ELT++ glass trailers. The ELT++ enables to transport up to 27 tons of float glass, 23% more than the average of 22 tons transported today with traditional inloaders.

During glasstec 2012 in Düsseldorf Van Huët Glass Logistics and Meierling signed a contract for the supply of 200 special ELT++ glass trailers. “The ELT++ concept enables our customers to transport up to 27 tons of float glass. This is 23% more than the average of 22 tons transported today in the traditional inloaders,” according to Mr. Emons, CEO of the Emons Group, of which Van Huët is a division.
Meierling from Hagen (Germany) is the natural partner for this revolutionary new development in glass logistics. The company has been a specialist in the field of aluminium trailer design, development and production for decades. For Meierling this order of 200 trailers fills the production line for the coming three years.
The interest of the glass industry at glasstec is overwhelming: transport and logistics costs are a critical part of the total cost of glass and the reduction of CO2 emissions is also becoming more and more important for the glass industry. A 23% reduction in this perspective is very significant.
