Carl Zeiss opens new assembly and demo centre in India

The Carl Zeiss Tech Centre has opened in Bangalore, India, allowing Industrial Metrology to offer its customers additional services such as demos, training, contract programming, contract measurements and a service hotline.

Carl Zeiss has opened a new assembly and demo centre for Industrial Metrology in Bangalore, India. “The opening of this new centre enables us to manufacturer our coordinate measuring machines (CMM) directly on site for a market with major potential. We can react more quickly to the needs of our customers and will be able to expand our market position,” says Dr. Rainer Ohnheiser, President and CEO of Carl Zeiss Industrial Measuring Technology.
The Indian Tech Centre allows Industrial Metrology to offer its customers additional services such as demos, training, contract programming, contract measurements and a service hotline.
Wilson Thomas, Managing Director of Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology in India, adds: “We are very proud to open our fourth production site here in India after Oberkochen, Minneapolis and Shanghai. This move enables us to address the growing significance of India in the global economy.”
Industrial Metrology has been active in India since 1975. After entering the market through cooperation with Empire Machine Tools, the first sales office opened in Bangalore in 1997, followed by three tech centres in Bangalore (2008), Pune (2010) and Chennai (2012).
Other Carl Zeiss business groups, including Vision Care, Medical Technology and Microscopy, are also present at this new site.
