Arvind and PD Fibre Glass JV starts Indian glass fabric facility

The JV between Arvind and PD Fibre Glass has commissioned a new manufacturing facility at Santej, India, which will manufacture 30,000 tonnes of fabric after five years, mostly for export.

Indian textiles company Arvind Ltd. has formed a JV with German company PD Fibre Glass Group and has commissioned a new manufacturing facility to manufacture glass fabrics in India, to be situated at Santej, India.
The JV formed in December 2011 has a 51:49 equity participation and will cater to the requirements of energy, automotive and infrastructure sectors.
Arvind, which manufactures fabrics for fire retardants, filtration and personal protection, forecasts its technical textiles to be a USD 1 billion business in 10 years.
The Satej facility will manufacture 30,000 tonnes of fabric after five years, with the majority of production to be exported.
