Glass Systems Direct continues growth

GSD, the UK’s largest independent sealed unit manufacturer, has continued its strong growth and sales, and now manufactures about 11,000 units per week – a 30% increase compared to the same period of last year.

Glass Systems Direct (GSD), the Llantrisant, Wales-based branch of Glass Systems Ltd., has continued its strong growth and sales.
GSD, the UK’s largest independent sealed unit manufacturer, now manufactures about 11,000 units per week, which is 30% more than the same period last year.
Paul Irvine, director of GSD comments: “The glass and glazing market may be contracting and the economic conditions may be uncertain, yet GSD continues to buck the trend and outperform competitors. Growth from our existing customers and a surge of new accounts has contributed to the 30% volume increase, while continued investment in transport, machinery and product development continues to strengthen our position in the market.”
The GSD product portfolio includes Eco-Pane, the high performing sealed unit manufactured using Planitherm Total Plus, and Pilkington EnergiKare sealed units, manufactured using Pilkington K Glass and Optiwhite. The company also offers a wide range of leaded, stained and Georgian bar units, as well as spandrel panels for the architectural glazing market.
Alan Atkinson, managing director of the Glass Systems Group concludes: “GSD has come a long way since its inception in 2007 and we are delighted with the businesses performance this year. GSD offers fabricators and installers premium quality products, service and support and these core values are the foundation of our continuing success.”
