PPG Industries“ Sungate 400 glass has been approved for lamination with select interlayer and film materials such as Solutia Inc.“s Saflex and Vanceva, and Butacite and Sentryglas from DuPont. Sungate 400 glass is a passive, low-emissivity glass with a magnetron sputtered vacuum deposition (MSVD) soft coat which helps retain heat from the sun and reduce winter heating costs in commercial building. Sungate 400 glass has a winter U-value (insulating value) 9% better than passive low-E glasses manufactured with a hard pyrolitic coating.
