NSG (Nippon Sheet Glass Co.) reported on 8 December that it intends to increase its production capacity for automotive windshields in Mexico by 30% to some 2.5 million units a year. The company said that it plans to spend USD 15 million, or about JPY 1.25 billion, to build a facility next to its Mexicali factory, with expansion to be completed in early 2012. The new facility will produce high value-added laminated windshields, including those made with glass that absorbs solar energy, for the Mexican market, along with exports to North and South America.
