C.R. Laurence Co., Inc. (CRL) has announced that it has entered into an agreement to purchase the Jackson Corporation. Los Angeles-based Jackson Corporation, which has been a manufacturer of door hardware for the aluminium and tempered glass door industry for over 50 years, became the first US hardware manufacturer to be certified to ISO 9001 quality standards in 1995. As per the transaction, CRL will acquire all of the operating assets and intellectual property of Jackson. The manufacturing operations will be housed in CRL“s new 60,000 sq.ft. facility in Vernon, California, while Jackson products will be distributed worldwide both through the current network, as well as CRL“s own worldwide network. In addition, says Lloyd Talbert, president of C. R. Laurence, We anticipate that all of the Jackson employees will come to work for us in Vernon. Robert Rivera, Jackson“s president, has been very instrumental in assisting with the acquisition, and will continue as a resource in the future development of the Jackson brand. This acquisition will greatly benefit our customers, providing them with additional high quality architectural hardware choices to meet their needs. Jackson“s very popular Transom Closer was originally developed and patented over 35 years ago. The innovative features of today“s versions continue to make the Jackson Transom Closer a top choice. The company“s Panic Exit Hardware is universally recognized as the standard for the aluminium storefront market. Talbert concludes, We look forward to bringing Jackson“s manufacturing operations to our new facility, and welcome the Jackson employees to C.R. Laurence. C.R. Laurence Co., Inc. is a leading manufacturer and global supplier to the glazing, railing, architectural, construction, and automotive industries, offering more than 50,000 products, from 28 locations throughout North America, Europe, and Australia.
