Applications are now being accepted for GANA“s (Glass Association of North America) Educational Foundation 2010 scholarships, now in their third year. Other than the minimum five USD 1,000 scholarships for undergrads, there is also a new Graduate scholarship of USD 2,500. The Foundation has, since the beginning of the effort, awarded 16 scholarships to students in the fields of architecture, construction management or engineering, also including business students. “GANA created this program in 2006 as a way to give back to the industry,” said Bill Yanek, executive vice president at GANA. “By awarding students who will become an integral part of our industry, we hope to encourage the increased usage of glass in commercial architecture.” For the past several years, funding from the programme includes proceeds from GANA“s BEC Conference. The next BEC Conference will be held 27-29 March 2010 at the Paris Las Vegas Resort in Las Vegas. Deadline for scholarship applications is 1 April 2010.
