Just a week after the collapse of Liverpool-based Greenberg Glass with the loss of 70 jobs, the firm“s sister company, Greenberg Glass Emergency based in Huddersfield, northern England, entered administration on 5 November 2008. However, there is hope that jobs at the Greenberg Glass Emergency branch at Gateshead can be saved after administrators said they were talking to potential buyers. MCR Corporate Restructuring is handling the affairs of both firms. A spokesman for MCR said: “David Whitehouse and Phil Duffy, partners at MCR, were appointed joint administrators of Greenberg Glass Emergency on 5 November”. “A number of redundancies have been made across the UK, including 36 in the Team Valley Trading Estate, Gateshead operation”. “The administrators are currently speaking with a number of interested parties, including one party which is specifically interested in the Gateshead operation”.
