Vitro S.A.B. of C.V. has announced the death of Adrin Sada Trevio, honorary chairman of the board of directors. The Mexican glass major described his death as “an irreparable loss not only for Vitro, but for the state of Nuevo Leon and Mexico, given that from 1972 to 1991 he presided at Vitro, which grew out of Vidriera Monterrey, an industrial icon of the state founded in 1909”. In a press release, Vitro said that Adrin Sada Trevio was one of the most important Mexican entrepreneurs and visionaries, an example of prudence, perseverance, commitment to education, innovation and technology. He also distinguished himself by promoting the care of the environment, conservation of natural resources and sportsmanship, qualities that enabled him to be recognized worldwide as an environmental advocate. “The work and legacy of Don Adrin Sada Trevino as a businessman, is reflected in what is now Vitro, its development and what it represents. Nearly 22,400 employees in 10 countries in America and Europe, almost 100 years of strength, a company recognized internationally as a leader for its social commitment and its ability in glass manufacturing and processing, are living proof of his work as a businessman Adrin was distinguished by his tenacity, becoming an important part of the business and industrial engine of the country, by his courage and strength in overcoming difficult times such as the Second World War, the 1982 bank nationalization and the devaluations of 1982 and 1994, and by his skill in adjusting to the changes and challenges presented by the development of Mexico through entry into GATT in the late 80“s, NAFTA in the 90“s, globalization and the arrival of new competitors”. Adrin Sada Trevino is survived by his wife Nelly Maria Gonzalez Villarreal and children Adrin Sada Gonzalez, chairman of the Vitro board of directors, Federico Sada Gonzalez, CEO of Vitro, Alejandra Sada Gonzlez and Mara Nelly Sada Gonzlez.
