Ceylon Glass Company Plc, with over half a century of history in glassmaking, has become Piramal Glass Ceylon Plc. CEO, Sanjay Tiwari said, a major re-branding exercise had recently been carried out in the Piramal Group, resulting in a need to stop and think – not just regarding the company“s performance, but also its aims and ambitions. These deliberations led us to adopt the new corporate identity of Piramal Glass, aligned to the new identity of the Piramal Group. Thus in line with this new corporate identity, Ceylon Glass Company Plc is now known as Piramal Glass Ceylon Plc. The beginning of the company“s relationship with Piramal Glass Ltd. (then known as Gujarat Glass Ltd.) of India in 1999, when it became a subsidiary, was an important milestone in the history of the company. The company also recently gained the coveted Business Superbrand status. The Superbrands programme, currently operating in more than 55 countries, acknowledges a variety of categories of brands. The most recent programme in Sri Lanka recognizes those products marketed to other business through Business Superbrands. A Business Superbrand is awarded to a company/product that has established the finest reputation in its field and offers customers emotional and/or tangible advantages over competitors, which a customer (consciously or subconsciously) wants, recognizes and is confident about investing in. It represents quality, reliability and distinction and we are proud to be the recipients of such an award, he said. Piramal Glass has manufacturing facilities located in the US, Sri Lanka and India, and markets its products to more than 54 countries across the world. It has a strong presence in the global cosmetic and perfumery market, as well as being the largest producer of nail-polish bottles globally. We are confident of a vibrant future for Piramal Glass and look forward to becoming a major player in the niche glass market globally, Tiwari said.
