Applied Materials, Inc. announced on 9 November 2007 that it has completed the acquisition of Edwards Vacuum, Inc.“s Kachina semiconductor equipment parts cleaning and refurbishment business assets. This acquisition expands Applied“s Chamber Services network of facilities and enhances the company“s position as semiconductor industry provider of critical parts of cleaning, coating, refurbishment and analytical technologies. The transaction also included Kachina“s operations at Austin, Texas; Phoenix, Arizona; and Hillsboro, Oregon; as well as its on-site service operations at customer sites in Israel, Ireland and in the state of Virginia. As part of its Metron Chamber Performance Services product unit, Applied Materials presently owns and operates parts cleaning service facilities in North America, Europe, Israel, Taiwan, Singapore and China.
