Dow Corning launched its Quality Bond(TM) programme during the glasstec trade fair in October 2006, which the company says will enable real estate owners and investors, architects, faade consultants and engineers, system suppliers and applicators to share Dow Corning“s extensive know-how in structural glazing and other silicone-based bonding applications. The initiative is to be put into practice in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. “Accelerating architectural creativity and fast-growing requirements in energy efficiency and transparency are fuelling demand for advanced structural glazing solutions across the globe. Quality Bond(TM) will ensure that the very best in terms of performance, safety and durability is achieved by all participants in structural glazing projects”, said Axel Giesecke, Marketing Segment leader EMEA, Commercial Glazing and Faade Systems. Quality Bond(TM) participants will benefit from Dow Corning“s support in implementing strict quality control and quality assurance regimes, testing and extended project warranties. Quality Bond(TM) will also enhance knowledge transfer by linking partners throughout the value chain, providing architects and consultants with early-phase planning and project support. Quality Bond(TM) participation is open to all. Dow Corning will provide members with referrals to other Quality Bond(TM) participants on request, strengthening their business-to-business marketing and networking efforts. “Dow Corning has a 35-year history of pioneering structural glazing solutions worldwide”, said Giesecke. “We are confident that Quality Bond(TM) will allow us to extend this outstanding track record, while helping architects, engineers and contractors meet new challenges in faade construction and design”.
