The prosecution of a California man accused of stealing Corning Inc. trade secrets was adjourned until 21 March 2006 in the US District Court in Rochester, New York. Yeong C. Lin was arrested by the Los Angeles Division of the FBI in 2005 and is the second person charged in the case. Jonathan Sanders, 37, of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, pleaded guilty earlier in 2006. Sanders faces up to five years in prison and a fine of USD 250,000, Lee said. He is scheduled to be sentenced on 18 April 2006. Lin“s case was adjourned because he has hired a new lawyer, who now needs time to study the case. Sanders and Lin were charged with stealing trade secrets Corning Inc. uses to make LCD glass, its most profitable product. Lin is accused of acquiring the documents from Sanders and providing them to Picvue Electronics, a Taiwanese company for which he worked as a consultant. Sanders is a former employee of Corning Inc.“s Harrodsburg, Kentucky, plant, where the specialty glass is manufactured.
