The Warta Glass group is considering an expansion into Eastern markets through acquisitions in Russia and the Ukraine. “We do not exclude any form of expansion. We are interested in being present in Russia and Ukraine,” said Filip Kmiec from Warta Glass. “When it comes to broadening our business in Poland, we do not intend to purchase glassworks, but rather some entities complementary to those we already have,” added Kmiec. The group currently comprises the main company Warta Glass and three glassworks: HS Warta, HS Jedlice and AB Panevezio Stiklas in Lithuania. Warta Glass wants to list on the stock market, though no earlier than 2008. “We will be closer to some concrete decisions in the 2H of 2006,” said Kmiec. In 2005, the company posted net income of PLN 260 million, with net profits of PLN 35 million.
