Alu-Pro, a leading Italian manufacturer in the sector of metal profiles for IG units, recently announced that it has acquired the controlling share of Poland“s Vetrim, a manufacturer of aluminium profiles and a distributor of products for the manufacture of IG units. The operation was carried out in agreement with Imsa, located in Gorizia, north-east Italy, which specializes in the distribution of glass, glass processing machinery and the full range of products from Glass Alliance, already present in Vetrim with Alu-Pro. Vetrim has been active since the 1990s. It was founded as a Polish subsidiary of the Imsa group, to follow more closely the development of the Eastern European market after the positive experience in ex-Yugoslavian countries. With the entry of Alu-Pro in 2001, the company set up its own production facilities, which provided a strong boost to turnover. The continuous growth in business has moved the company“s activities ever more in the direction of aluminium profiles, determining a strategic strengthening of Alu-Pro“s role in the company which has culminated in the complete transfer of the shares owned by Imsa to Alu-Pro. This agreement is the result of the strong relationship between the two companies, consolidated in the spirit of collaboration that exists in the Glass Alliance network. It will enable Imsa to collaborate ever more closely with Glass Alliance and, in particular, on the distribution of products in the years to come. The takeover has the potential to facilitate and simplify investments that have become more than opportune for the strong growth of the Polish company and the complete fulfillment of its new potential. The operational headquarters of Vetrim will remain at Opole in the most industrialized region of Poland, strategically important as a door to the large Eastern European market. The high professionalism of the local staff, combined with its strong competitivity in terms of costs, will enable the development and consolidation of an important production and distribution center, able to satisfy the considerable demands of the Polish market and, in particular, of all Eastern Europe. The core business will be the production and commercialization of aluminium profiles, but, the strong investments already planned will benefit all the other products distributed by Glass Alliance, specialized from the outset in the IG units sector.
