Owens-Illinois, Inc., announced 1 December 2004 that its new vice president, global integration and transformation would be Philip J. Rubin. The appointment is effective 1 December. In this new role, Rubin will be responsible for the development and maintenance of world-class business processes, facilitating both the physical logistics and information flows throughout the supply chain, including global supply chain analysis, competitive analysis, special project studies, and program coordination for turnaround and transformation priorities and strategies. According to Owens-Illinois, Rubin is an experienced supply chain technical expert and brings over 20 years of global supply chain, operations, general management and project management experience to this new role. He has lived in both Korea and China and is a trained six-sigma leader. “In his role, Phil will actively participate in various global networks and teams to assist in leveraging global capabilities and focusing on O-I“s fundamentals,” said Steve McCracken, Owens-Illinois Chairman and CEO.
