UK-based global packaging group Rexam confirmed 1 October 2004 that it has completed the acquisition from Vitro S.A. de C.V. of the 50% stake it did not own in the Mexican beverage can business, Vitro-American National Can SA de CV, (Vancan) which was announced on 27 September 2004. Vitro CEO Federico Sada said the sale of Vancan was consistent with the company strategy of focusing on glass.
