Innovation from Stoelzle Masnieres Parfumerie for perfumery and cosmetics bottles and jars

Quali Glass Coat 2.0 is a new environmentally friendly technique of applying powder coating to glass

Quali Glass Coat 2.0 is a new environmentally friendly technique of applying powder coating to glass, developed by Stoelzle, enabling to obtain of new shades using thermo-lacquering technology.

“Over the years, decoration techniques have gained extensively in sophistication,” states Franck Legrand, innovation director of Stoelzle Masnieres Parfumerie and Stoelzle Masnieres Decoration. “They allow products to stand out for their differentiation and make them more attractive. Our customers are ceaselessly demanding ever more creative options, and this is why Stoelzle Masnieres Decoration already offers a broad palette of sophisticated, innovative decoration techniques that enhance existing shapes. This is a fantastic way to update a product range at a controlled cost. We are constantly seeking to push our boundaries and are proud to have developed Quali Glass Coat 2.0, a new environmentally friendly technique of applying powder coating to glass, in our decoration facility in Masnières.”
The use of powder paint allows us to offer a broad palette of new decorative effects with a very low environmental impact and high mechanical resistance.
This new process allows the development of new shades using thermo-lacquering technology. Its ecological advantages are exceptional due to the zero amount of solvents and very small amount of volatile organic compounds involved in the whole decoration process.
The recuperation and reintegration of exceeding material produced by over-spraying allows us to eliminate both emissions and waste.
This new technique, which comes from the metal industry, allows significant environmental advantages, because the powders used in the application process are compliant with Directive 2002/95/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 January 2003 on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances. These powders contain no lead, mercury, cadmium or chrome, in line with current European regulations. The process has already proved its high performance in extreme conditions.
Beyond its environmental credentials, the process allows the creation of a spectacular finish on bottles and jars:
• Perfect coverage of all surfaces
• High resistance to shock and friction
• A wide choice of colours and surface effects
• Chrome, pearlescent, glitter or shading effects on all or part of a bottle or jar, whether transparent or opaque
• Suitable for all over-decoration techniques for added personalization.
“Thanks to Stölzle Glass Group’s investments in research and development and the purchase of latest generation machinery, Stoelzle Masnieres Decoration fully masters lacquering, screen printing and hot stamping as well as other decoration techniques,” explains Etienne Gruyez, managing director of Stoelzle Masnieres Parfumerie and Stoezle Masnieres Decoration. “All of these are achieved using water-based products, in line with the group’s CSR policy. We already offer a wide range of colour options. We works with metals like enamels, semi-precious or even precious metals. We offer semi-automation and adapt to customer demand. As specialists in small quantities working for high-end perfumery and cosmetics in Masnières, we regularly share synergies with the group’s other sites to offer decoration for larger volumes. Our lacquering and inkjet printing manager has been working for several years on 3D effects, wood, concrete, soft touch and lenticular effects. Our latest innovation, Quali Glass Coat, will allow sales director Nicolas Carron and his teams to accompany our customers ever further in their quest for creativity and the personalization of bottles and jars.”
