Glaston: stricter building regulations and tighter glass quality requirements drive demand for safety glass

Thanks to the growing demand for high quality safety glass processing, Glaston has received orders for two FC Series flat tempering lines from North America valued at over EUR 3 million in total.

Supported by growing construction activity and a willingness to invest, the North American glass processing market is shifting towards high quality safety glass processing. Glaston is well positioned to meet this demand.

“Driven by new regulations, and tighter quality specifications, the demand for safety glass has continued to grow. Our equipment is designed and performing to exceed these demands,” says Scott Steffy, Vice President Sales and Service in North America.

Supported by the growing demand, and coming out from the glasstec fair, Glaston has, during the past weeks, received orders for two FC Series flat tempering lines from North America. The orders are valued at over EUR 3 million in total. The orders are included in Glaston’s Q4/2018 order intake. Both lines are manufactured in Tampere, Finland and delivery is scheduled for the second and third quarters of 2019.

The deals now closed are excellent examples of the versatile use of the FC Series. “Both customers are leading players in their respective segments and are both looking for flawless quality of the end product,” comments Scott Steffy.

The FC Series flat tempering furnace has achieved great popularity among customers looking for energy efficient production and state-of-the-art optical end-product quality. The FC Series is highly developed technically, and at the same time user friendly.
