There was speculation on 4 June 2001 that the German company, Heye Glass, had failed. The company is providing the technology to Australia“s Leighton Holdings to construct a A$ 130 million bottle plant for Amcor“s ACI Glass in Australia. However, Heye is apparently engaged in a US-style Chapter 11 form of bankruptcy, which is designed to shut down parts of its business. The company“s technical services division is strong and sources say that all contracts are in order.
