Taiwan Glass has reported pre-tax year 2000 profits of T$ 350 million at the firm“s mainland China plant, seven times more than the T$ 50 million reported in 1999. Profits at the plant now account for about 12% of the company total. The plant, in which Taiwan Glass has a 60% stake, generated total revenue of RMB 700 million in 2000, an increase of 20.5% on the 1999 figure. The firm expects to increase its investment in the mainland China plant by the end of 2001.
