Industrial gases supplier Praxair has announced price increases, effective from 1 December 2000. Industrial grade merchant oxygen and nitrogen prices will increase by 10-15%, or more in certain areas; industrial grade merchant carbon dioxide prices will increase by 10-30%; industrial grade merchant hydrogen and helium will increase by 10-15%. Praxair is also notifying customers about the implementation of a program to restructure contracts to recover costs incurred to supply merchant products. According to Praxair, this program is designed to strengthen and enhance the company“s ability to reliably produce and distribute merchant products to meet customer requirements and is in response to significant and continuing increases in energy, power, fuel and crude feedstock.
