For January-September 2000, Turkish glass conglomerate Sisecam reported net profits of TL 2.57 trillion compared to a figure of TL 1.28 trillion for the same period in 1999. Sales for the period also improved considerably, rising from TL 3.7 trillion to TL 6.5 trillion for the period. Operating profit was reported at TL 1.4 trillion (TL 1.38 trillion previously) while exceptional income during the first nine months totalled TL 5.7 trillion, against TL 3.9 trillion in 1999. The figures do not take into account Turkey“s year-on-year wholesale price inflation of 43.9 percent in September.
