Japanese firm Asahi Glass has announced an upwardly adjusted pre-tax profit forecast for the fiscal year ending in March 2001. The original forecast of JPY 25 billion has been revised to JPY 29 billion. The revision was attributable to good sales of CRT glass, glass substrates for liquid crystal panels and other electronic parts, the company said. The consolidated revenue estimate for the year remains at JPY 1.33 trillion. Asahi Glass expects to report a consolidated net profit of JPY 11 billion for the April-September first half, unchanged from the previous forecast, with revenue slightly up at JPY 650 billion.
