Saint-Gobain has bought back and cancelled 3.85% of its capital within the framework of a share buyback programme. The glassmaker intends to cancel a further 1.15% by 31 December 2000. As a result of reducing its capital in this way, the company is forecasting that net earnings per share will grow by 20% (excluding capital gain) in 2000.
