Sahm C.S., the largest Czech producer of glass for top brands of beverages, last year saw its revenues grow 20% to Kcs 337 million and expects an increase by a further 18% this year, according to CEO Pavel Bobosik. The results for the first three months suggest that the plan for the full-year growth is realistic. Exports last year accounted for 37% of output. The company also set up the subsidiary Bohemia Line in Russia. Supplies to Russia last year totalled Kcs 7 million and this year are planned to grow to Kcs 30-35 million. The company will this year open its second production facility, this one in Vysoke Myto. “We shall be operating on hired premises and will employ 60 to 70 people very soon,” said Bobosik. Some 55% of the output of the plant will be exclusive glassware mainly for exports to Germany. The rest will be production for breweries, the company“s biggest customers. Sahm C.S. is a subsidiary of the German Sahm Gmbh, a leader in the field. The firm started operating in 1991. The group comprises Sahm s.r.o., Sahm productions, Sahm Slovakia and Bohemia Line. In the future, it should also include Sklarna Hermanova hut glassworks, in which investors related to Sahm C.S. acquired a stake in 1998.
