Infineon Technologies Trutnov (ITT), a producer of optical fibres in the Czech Republic, expects to double revenues to Kcs 1.8 billion in the year ending September 30, 2000. In 1998/99, the company earned Kcs 862 million, ITT spokesman Rudolf Pola said. The Trutnov, East-Bohemia company is the Czech branch of Infineon Technologies, formerly Siemens Semiconductors. The company became SET HL in 1998, then, in January of this year, changed its name to Infineon Technologies, after its Siemens-owned parent company, Infineon Technologies of Munich. Pola says the Trutnov branch will increase revenues this year by introducing new production lines, and increasing the number of employees by 20% from the current staff of 500. The company has plans to invest Kcs 80 million and to construct a new plant with 4,000 square metres of production space.
