US-based Lucent Technolgies Inc. has completed the acquisition of fibre-optic maker SpecTran Corp. In a recent press release, Lucent said SpecTran will become part of its Microelectronics and Communications Technology unit. In July of 1999, Lucent agreed to acquire Spectran for US$ 64 million, or US$ 9 a share, and the assumption of US$ 35 million of debt.
