Glaverbel Czech, the largest flat glass producer in Central and Eastern Europe, saw a record profit of Kcs 305 million in 1999 on record sales revenues of Kcs 5.873 billion, Glaverbel spokeswoman Alena Janotkova said. Profits grew by Kcs 149 million, sales revenues were up 11% year-on- year and exports rose 12.5%. Compared to 1991, labour productivity rose fivefold, achieving the highest level in the company“s existence last year. Last year was also the most successful for the whole Glaverbel Czech group which, other than the parent company, comprises 21 firms in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. The group“s sales revenues stood at Kcs 9.220 billion, up 11.36% from 1998, according to unaudited figures.
