German utility merger partners Viag AG and Veba AG said they expect proceeds of more than Euros 10 billion from the sale of subsidiaries. Viag said the merged group expected gains of more than Euros 10 billion from divestment plans already announced by the two groups in a move to concentrate on their energy and chemicals businesses, Viag chief financial officer Erhard Schipporeit said. The sale of Gerresheimer Glas and Kloeckner & Co. could be concluded before the merger was completed, he added.
