Royal Brierley and Sunderland Glassworks of the UK have announced the creation of a senior sales team to develop the companies“ concession, independent outlets and factory shops around the UK. Four new area managers have been appointed to cover the whole national territory: Tony Boardman, (South East and East Anglia), Alan Elston, (South West), Stewart Borthwick, (Midlands and North West), James Stark (Scotland and North East). According to the UK manufacturer of mouth-blown, hand-cut crystal, all the new managers have experience in the glass and giftware industries. Tony Boardman, who has over 22 years“ experience in the glass industry, previously worked at Caithness Glass. Alan Elston brings over 10 years“ sales experience with Caithness Glass and has worked in the giftware industry for over 20 years. Stewart Borthwick also joins the company from Caithness Glass, where he worked for 13 years. His overall experience in the glass industry spans more than 20 years and he has also held senior sales positions with Villeroy and Boch. The most experienced member of the new team, James Stark, previously worked for Caithness Glass for a decade and, prior to that, for Royal Doulton for 25 years. “These senior appointments confirm our dedication to developing our service to customers. I am personally delighted that we have attracted such talent to the organization,” said Leigh Baildham, sales and marketing director for Royal Brierley and Sunderland Glassworks, who is responsible for the new team. “This strengthening of our salesforce, together with the introduction of contemporary new product designs make it an exciting time for the company”, he added.
