German group Gerresheimer Glas AG said that pretax profit in the first three quarters of fiscal 1999 fell to DM 42 million (Euro 21.4 million) from DM 46 million a year earlier. The company“s fiscal year runs from 1 December to 30 November. Gerresheimer said the sale of eight container-glass units added about DM 22 million to its profit in the period, comparable to a similar effect a year earlier. Sales in the first nine months were DM 1.18 billion, down 4.8%.
