Moravian group STV Glass Valasske Mezirici, which produces glass components for TV screens and computer monitors, ended 1998 with net earnings of Kcs 76.149 million on overall revenues of Kcs 1.246 billion, said board chairman Alexander Berg. In 1997, the company had net Kcs 58.183 million on revenues of Kcs 1.132 billion. Sales revenues grew from 1997“s volume of Kcs 802.982 million to Kcs 888.088 million last year. However, operating profit dropped from Kcs 154.887 million to Kcs 109.766 million. Since 1996, the company has invested over Kcs 900 million. Exports account for some 90% of the company“s output. The largest foreign customers include the Austrian Philips Components, British firm LGWA, and the German SEB Berlin companies. The only Czech customer is Tesla Ecimex. STV Glass is fully owned by the Schott Group. STV“s share capital equals Kcs 755.38 million. The company employs 541 workers.
