26 November 1998: According to a recent press report, Polish Krosno SA wants close cooperation with Polish glassmaker Irena SA, but has no plans for a merger. “We would like to have an effect of synergy, which results from better cooperation. That would enable us to lower sales costs, working together both on the domestic and international markets,” Krosno“s deputy head Krzysztof Janas said. Janas declined to say by how much Krosno wants to increase its stake in Irena. The company said it has 9.44% of Irena. Irena financial manager Stanislaw Pieciukiewcz said he favoured a closer cooperation between the two glass makers.
